Fourth Suspect Arrested in Barcelona Violence Case After Returning from Morocco
The National Police have successfully apprehended the fourth individual connected to a series of random assaults that occurred in the Eixample district of Barcelona during the early hours of July 5. This arrest took place at the Barcelona-El Prat airport on July 21, as the suspect was arriving from Morocco. Law enforcement officials confirmed that the Mossos d'Esquadra had issued a warrant for his capture.
According to reports, the individual was detained at the passport control area of the airport. This arrest comes on the heels of a troubling trend of public violence in the area, with the police attributing multiple assaults to him and his accomplices. Investigative Breakthroughs and Public Response
Following the circulation of the videos, the suspect fled Spain, initially seeking refuge in the Canary Islands before returning to Morocco. However, he was ultimately tracked down and arrested upon his return to Barcelona. Prior to this, on July 16, three other individuals associated with these assaults had been taken into custody, while two additional suspects were reported to have been identified.
The investigative efforts of the Mossos d'Esquadra revealed that they could validate at least six separate attacks, with some victims sustaining minor injuries.
