Fouzi Lekjaa's Call for Unity and Development
During a recent tour in the Souss region aimed at supporting candidates from the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM), Fouzi Lekjaa emphasized the necessity for a national mobilization to elevate Morocco into the ranks of emerging economies. Speaking in Agadir, Lekjaa stressed the urgency of sincere and serious efforts to rebuild the trust between the government and its citizens, asserting that his involvement in politics stems from his rights as a citizen, rather than any political ambitions. Furthermore, Samir Goudar, a prominent member of the PAM's political bureau, shed light on the background of Lekjaa's political affiliation, noting that the process began over a year ago, spearheaded by Fatima-Zahra Mansouri, the national coordinator for the party's collective leadership.

As the president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), Fouzi Lekjaa attended the quarter-finals of the Women's Africa Cup of Nations 2026 in Rabat, where Morocco triumphed over South Africa with a score of 2-1. Following this event, he engaged in a series of political meetings in Agadir, Inezgane, and Tiznit, where he was joined by influential party members including Hicham El Mhajri and Samir Goudar. The primary objective of this tour was to bolster support for local candidates like Hamid Ouahbi in Agadir and Mohamed Oudmin in Inezgane-Aït Melloul, among others. These gatherings came on the heels of Lekjaa's formal integration into the PAM's political bureau, announced during the party's 32nd national council session held in Salé.
In addressing the discussions surrounding his membership in the PAM, Goudar clarified that Lekjaa's decision was entirely voluntary, driven by a desire for collaboration and improvement within the party. He highlighted that the initiative to welcome Lekjaa was influenced by a collective yearning for broader competencies within the party, further reinforced by the capabilities demonstrated by PAM ministers in the current government. Lekjaa himself expressed his commitment to serve the nation rather than pursue political accolades, stating that his ambition lies in restoring the public's trust through transparency and direct engagement with citizens, even in the most remote areas of the country. He emphasized the importance of addressing pressing issues such as the rising cost of living and access to quality health and education, framing these as fundamental to the dignity of every Moroccan citizen.
