On Saturday, June 13, authorities at Marrakech Menara Airport successfully apprehended a French national of Algerian descent, aged 30, on suspicion of disseminating digital content that includes defamation and insults directed at Moroccan citizens, as well as slander and disrespect towards a public institution regulated by law.
The suspect allegedly shared derogatory content on her social media accounts, which not only insulted Moroccan citizens but also contained explicit accusations against public officials regarding corruption and preferential treatment during their enforcement of traffic laws.
This criminal behavior prompted a judicial investigation overseen by the competent public prosecutor's office, leading to the issuance of a nationwide search warrant for the individual. She was apprehended on Saturday as she prepared to board a flight to France.
The suspect is currently under police custody as part of the investigation conducted by the judicial police in Marrakech, under the supervision of the relevant public prosecutor's office, aimed at uncovering the true motives behind her criminal actions.
