Investigative Developments Surrounding James
The renowned singer James is currently under investigation by French authorities due to allegations related to money laundering within an organized network. He has been placed in prolonged detention following claims surrounding his involvement in a luxurious real estate project in Morocco. This information was released by the National Public Prosecutor's Office for the Fight Against Organized Crime (PNACO) to the French news agency on Thursday. According to reports from Africa Intelligence, the investigations are particularly focused on the "Sunset Village Private Residences" project located near Marrakech, which is being promoted by the artist.
In this context, judicial authorities are striving to ascertain James's actual role within an investigation tied to an international network suspected of employing a "set of companies" across various countries to engage in VAT speculation and evade French taxes. It is believed that these practices may have facilitated the issuance of fraudulent invoices and the laundering of funds derived from illegal activities, with an aim to obscure their origins.
Connections to Criminal Activities and Real Estate Ventures
Moreover, Africa Intelligence reported that five former drug traffickers from the Île-de-France region who have transitioned into financial crimes have been implicated in the case. In this regard, James was apprehended by French authorities immediately upon his arrival in Paris. His attorney, David Olivier Kaminski, has yet to provide any comments despite the French news agency's attempts to reach him.
The case revolves around a site featuring a 3,000 square meter artificial lake, a panoramic restaurant club, concierge services, sports fields, and a wellness area, in addition to 118 luxury villas sprawling over 13 hectares in the Marrakech area. According to the same sources, James was actively involved in this project, managed by Horizons Morocco, contributing to its design, material selection, and overall architectural vision.
