French Citizen Convicted of Homicide Awaiting Extradition to Paris

French National Convicted of Homicide Transferred to Local Prison

A 30-year-old French citizen of Tunisian descent has been transferred to the local prison known as "Larjat 2" in Salé, Morocco, pending the completion of extradition procedures to French judicial authorities. This transfer follows his agreement to cooperate with the extradition process.

The action was taken after judicial police from the Marrakech Security Prefecture presented the individual to the public prosecutor at the local court on Wednesday. The prosecutor was tasked with reviewing the extradition process requested by French authorities, who sought his arrest to enforce a judicial sentence that included a 30-year prison term for his alleged involvement in a homicide case using a firearm.

During his appearance before the public prosecutor, the suspect was informed of an international arrest warrant issued by French judicial authorities. After being questioned about his willingness to be extradited to the requesting country, he expressed his consent and was subsequently placed in "Larjat 2" prison until the completion of the extradition procedures.

The events surrounding this case date back to September 2017 when the suspect is believed to have murdered an individual in the public streets of Vitry-sur-Seine, France, using a firearm, before fleeing the scene.

The suspect was apprehended in Marrakech, where an Interpol database check revealed he was the subject of a Red Notice requested by the National Central Bureau in Paris, aimed at enforcing a 30-year prison sentence against him.

Following his arrest, the individual was subjected to pre-trial detention while the National Judicial Police conducted an investigation under the supervision of the relevant public prosecutor, looking into the criminal acts attributed to him based on the formal complaint from French authorities.
