Innovative Collaboration for Moroccan Railways
A new joint venture has been established between the French company Vossloh Services France and the German firm Futrifer, aimed at enhancing railway maintenance services in Morocco. This initiative, named "Vossloh Futrifer Services Maroc," officially commenced operations in July 2026 and is based in Casablanca. The focus of this collaboration is on providing comprehensive maintenance solutions that include welding, grinding, and the upkeep of railway switches for both national and urban networks.
The Moroccan railway network, managed by the National Office of Railways (ONCF), will be the primary beneficiary of this partnership. Additionally, maintenance services will extend to urban railway lines in key cities such as Casablanca and Rabat. This strategic partnership not only signifies a commitment to improving the efficiency and safety of Morocco's railway infrastructure but also highlights the growing collaboration between European firms and Moroccan authorities.
As Morocco continues to expand its railway network, the establishment of this joint venture represents a critical step towards modernizing and enhancing the overall quality of rail transport in the country. The integration of advanced maintenance technologies and practices is expected to significantly improve operational performance and service reliability, thereby supporting Morocco's long-term transportation goals.
