French-Lebanese Woman Arrested in Marrakech on International Warrant

The security services in Marrakech took significant action on Wednesday, April 29, by arresting a 34-year-old French woman of Lebanese descent who was wanted under an international arrest warrant issued by the judicial authorities in France. This arrest was made possible through a thorough verification of her identity against Interpol's database, which revealed that she was the subject of a red notice issued by the National Central Bureau in Paris. Authorities suspect her involvement in a criminal network that specializes in banking fraud.

Preliminary reports indicate that members of this network were targeting victims in both France and Canada through phone calls, during which they impersonated bank employees to extract sensitive banking information. This fraudulent scheme reportedly allowed them to siphon off a total of approximately 640,000 euros from unsuspecting individuals.

The suspect is currently undergoing international extradition procedures under the supervision of the relevant public prosecutor's office, while French authorities have been informed of her arrest through the National Central Bureau of Interpol in Rabat. This operation underscores the commitment of Moroccan security agencies to enhance international collaboration in tracking and apprehending individuals wanted for cross-border crimes.
