French Nationals Arrested in Connection with Fatal Traffic Incident

On August 15, security forces at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca successfully apprehended two French nationals, aged 26 and 28, who were allegedly involved in a fatal traffic accident and attempted to conceal evidence of the crime. This operation was conducted in close collaboration with local law enforcement in Marrakech. The tragic incident unfolded when the suspects, a man and a woman, caused a horrific vehicular accident in Marrakech using a light vehicle, resulting in the immediate death of a motorcyclist and severe injuries to his companion. Following the crash, the pair abandoned their vehicle and fled the scene in another car, clearly aiming to evade justice and mislead law enforcement authorities.

The distressing events surrounding this case quickly gained widespread attention, particularly due to a video that circulated extensively on messaging apps. This prompted an immediate response from security agencies, who intensified their investigations and technical inquiries, leading to the swift identification of the two individuals involved. Surveillance efforts ultimately revealed their presence at the border point of Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca, where they were arrested just as they were preparing to leave the country on a flight, effectively thwarting their attempt to escape legal consequences.

The suspects have since been placed under judicial investigation, which is being carried out by the local police department in Marrakech under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office. This investigation aims to uncover all the details and circumstances surrounding the tragedy, as well as to establish the charges and criminal acts attributed to each individual.
