Fuel Prices in Morocco: Diesel Sees a Decrease while Gasoline Remains Stable

Recent Changes in Fuel Prices in Morocco

The fuel market in Morocco is set to experience a notable change, with diesel prices expected to drop by 0.53 dirhams, starting tomorrow, June 1st. In contrast, gasoline prices will remain unchanged during this update. This information comes from a reliable source within the Federation of Gas Stations in Morocco, which confirmed that major fuel companies in the country communicated this semi-monthly adjustment earlier today.

On Friday, Reuters reported a significant drop in oil prices, falling more than 2%. Market participants are currently anticipating the outcome of potential negotiations between the United States and Iran regarding the extension of a ceasefire and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz for shipping activities. As of the latest reports, West Texas Intermediate crude closed at $87.36 per barrel, while Brent crude settled at $92.05 per barrel. These shifts in pricing are largely driven by hopes for a resolution that may allow for the resumption of energy flows in the region.

Furthermore, analysts are expressing a cautious optimism, as they have raised their oil price forecasts for the year 2026 for the third consecutive month. Projections indicate that the average price for Brent crude will reach $90.44 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate is expected to average around $84.63 per barrel. This increase in expectations comes amid ongoing supply disruptions originating from the Middle East, which continue to exert pressure on global oil prices.
