Upcoming Third Edition of Future of Work Forum Africa
The Future of Work Forum Africa (FOWFA) is returning to Casablanca on May 21-22, 2026, marking its third edition as the continent’s foremost platform dedicated to exploring the evolving landscape of work. Following a successful event in 2025 that attracted over 1,400 participants and featured 80 expert speakers, this year’s forum aims to solidify its position as a pivotal gathering for executives, human resources leaders, entrepreneurs, public decision-makers, and civil society figures who are keen to navigate the transformations that are redefining employment, skills, and organizational structures across Africa and beyond.
This year's theme, ‘In Motion,’ underscores the notion that adaptation is no longer merely a reaction to disruption but has become an integral aspect of operational dynamics. The agenda will prominently feature discussions on the impact of artificial intelligence and the emerging Gen Z workforce, alongside critical topics such as innovative leadership models, the rapid evolution of job profiles, and the broader structural changes within organizations. Rather than serving as a passive conference, the forum is designed to be an immersive experience, guiding participants through a structured process of analysis, debate, experimentation, and collaboration.
Casablanca: A Hub for Innovation and Talent
Casablanca’s designation as the host city speaks volumes about its growth as a continental talent hub, where the regional headquarters of major multinational corporations converge with a vibrant, internationally connected talent pool. Wassila Kara, one of the co-founders, highlighted Casablanca's unique ability to link local African realities with global trends, making it a fitting venue for a forum focused on generating ideas that are authentically African rather than mere imports from abroad.
Additionally, the institutional framework surrounding the forum is strengthening. Casablanca Finance City (CFC), a founding partner of FOWFA, is set to launch the Africa Finance and Sustainability Institute (AFSI) in late 2026. This initiative aims to offer innovative programs in impact finance and responsible investment, adhering to international standards. Abdelghni Lakhdar, the Secretary-General of CFC, emphasized that AFSI represents a shared ambition between the forum and CFC to cultivate the necessary skills for Africa’s financial ecosystem in the coming decade.
Amal L. Alami, the forum's co-founder, stressed the importance of embedding a distinctly Moroccan perspective into the project’s vision, which aims to reflect the realities of the African workforce while showcasing Morocco’s identity as a center for innovation, dialogue, and convergence of talent. With confirmed partnerships from Casablanca Finance City, EFE-Maroc, and ESCA École de Management, the 2026 edition is poised to be the most impactful iteration yet of a forum that has rapidly emerged as a must-attend event for business and policy leaders across Africa.
