Garrigues Appoints Jaafar Laidi as New Partner in Casablanca Office

Garrigues Announces Leadership Change in Casablanca Office

Garrigues, a prominent international law firm, has made a significant change in its Casablanca office by appointing Jaafar Laidi as the new partner in charge. This move comes as José Ignacio García Muniozguren steps down from the position after nearly two decades of leadership since the office's inception. Effective from June 9, 2026, Laidi's appointment is part of Garrigues' strategic reorganization in Morocco, aiming to further enhance its presence in a market characterized by ongoing international investments and exchanges.

Jaafar Laidi, who has been associated with Garrigues since 2005, specializes in various fields including business law, real estate, administrative law, corporate law, and regulatory advice. Throughout his career, he has provided expert guidance to financial institutions, industrial groups, and investors on matters involving mergers and acquisitions (M&A), infrastructure projects, concessions, public procurement, and development initiatives within Morocco. Garrigues believes that Laidi's extensive experience in both national and international investments will be instrumental in advancing the Casablanca office and supporting clients in their ambitious projects.

Born in Casablanca in 1974, Laidi holds a master's degree in private law from Hassan II University and a specialized postgraduate diploma in international business law from the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis. Additionally, he completed the Executive Management Program at the San Telmo International Institute, further enhancing his qualifications and leadership abilities.
