Gladbach and Dortmund Compete for Ajax Star Rayane Bounida

The football landscape is buzzing with news from Borussia Mönchengladbach and Borussia Dortmund as both clubs set their sights on an emerging talent from Ajax Amsterdam. Rayane Bounida, a promising young offensive player, has caught the attention of these two German football giants, who view him as a valuable addition to their attacking lines. However, both clubs face similar challenges regarding the conditions for securing his transfer.

According to reports from 4-4-2, Borussia Mönchengladbach and Borussia Dortmund are keen on acquiring Rayane Bounida. The dynamic attacking midfielder is reportedly available for transfer this summer, but securing his services will not come cheap. With a market valuation of approximately five million euros, Ajax is expected to demand a transfer fee around ten million euros. Bounida's contract with the club extends until 2028, adding a layer of complexity to any potential deal.

For Gladbach, bringing in the Moroccan international would be particularly appealing due to his versatility in the offensive trio. Last season, Bounida made 29 professional appearances for Ajax, contributing to eleven goals with two of his own and providing nine assists. His primary strength lies in his dribbling ability, as he frequently seeks out one-on-one situations to create opportunities.

However, competition is heating up from Dortmund, with Belgian transfer insider Sacha Tavolieri linking Bounida to a possible move to the BVB. Ajax is open to selling the young talent, yet they are unlikely to part ways with him at a bargain price. As reported by Tavolieri, Bounida is not currently the top priority for Dortmund, as they first need to address other pressing matters and potentially offload players before seriously considering his transfer. Sporting director Lars Ricken has indicated that further developments are expected in the near future.

Both clubs share a common condition: they need to facilitate player departures to create the necessary financial flexibility for new signings. Although Dortmund could technically accommodate the transfer fee, the pressing question of squad planning remains. Notably, Dortmund's primary target for the attacking midfield position appears to be Konstantinos Karetsas, an 18-year-old Greek talent, with whom they have reportedly reached an agreement. However, negotiations with KRC Genk for Karetsas are still ongoing, with offers and demands hovering around 30 to 35 million euros. Genk's technical director, Dimitri De Condé, mentioned that it is still early to determine Karetsas's future.

If the Karetsas deal materializes, it may significantly impact Dortmund's pursuit of Bounida, as both players occupy the same position and would not be needed simultaneously.
