GNV's Annual Gathering in Marrakech
The maritime company GNV, a subsidiary of the Italian MSC Group, recently convened its partner travel agencies in Marrakech for the seventh edition of the GNV Awards. This significant event, held over the weekend, attracted around 120 representatives from various Italian and international travel agencies. The annual gathering serves as a platform for the company's commercial partners, celebrating the agencies that have demonstrated exceptional performance over the past year. In the 2026 edition, GNV also welcomed new agencies into its "Elite Partner" and "Elite Premium" categories, part of a program initiated in 2017 that offers selected agencies various advantages and dedicated initiatives.
Impressive Growth and Future Plans
During the Marrakech event, GNV unveiled its results for the first nine months of the year, revealing that approximately 2.2 million passengers were transported between January and September 2026. This figure marks a 2% increase compared to the same timeframe in 2025. Additionally, the company reported a rise in freight traffic, with 1.84 million linear meters of cargo transported during the same period, reflecting a 5% year-on-year growth. GNV highlighted that Morocco remains one of its most vital and dynamic markets, catering to both tourism and commercial traffic, as well as connections with Moroccan communities established in Europe.
Moreover, the Marrakech event allowed GNV to announce the names of four new vessels set to join its fleet: GNV Jupiter, GNV Mars, GNV Venus, and GNV Mercury. These ships will be powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), aligning with the company's commitment to environmentally friendly operations. Founded in 1992 and a member of the MSC Group, GNV currently operates a fleet of 29 ships across 33 routes in eight countries, including Morocco, Italy, Spain, France, Tunisia, Algeria, Albania, and Malta.
