Go Avante Team Triumphs at Škoda Titan Desert Morocco 2026

Historic Achievement in Extreme Conditions

In a remarkable display of endurance and tactical prowess, the cycling team from Club Go Avante etched a historic performance at the Škoda Titan Desert Morocco 2026. Representing Venezuela and supported by the leading maritime company Avante, the team faced a grueling challenge across 589 kilometers of dunes and mountains, establishing themselves among the elite of global adventure cycling.

The dynamic duo of Yngrid Porras and Johan Rodríguez showcased unwavering consistency in the mixed duo category. Despite the geographical challenges and a significant fall experienced by Porras during the fourth stage, the athletes of Go Avante managed to secure a stage podium finish, clinching third place in the final leg (covering 74 km between Merzouga and Maadid) and an impressive fourth place overall in their category. Throughout the six days of intense competition, they achieved three podium finishes, underscoring their exceptional performance.

“It was a unique experience; the first time competing in such varied and demanding terrain, achieving these podiums and the overall fourth place is an extremely positive outcome for us,” the athletes expressed upon crossing the finish line in Maadid.

Commitment to Excellence and Investment in Talent

The management of Avante expressed their pride in this third international participation of the club, reaffirming that success on both land and sea is rooted in the same discipline. For the company, this achievement is not a mere coincidence but the result of a strong policy of investing in local talent.

“We allocate part of our annual budget to ensure that our athletes have the necessary support. Seeing the Vinotinto colors and the Go Avante emblem crossing the finish line in the desert is the best reward for our efforts as a maritime company,” stated Nomar Vargas, vice president of the organization. The Titan Desert 2026 is regarded as one of the toughest MTB challenges in the world, with over 6,000 meters of accumulated elevation gain. In this edition, the Go Avante team competed against nearly 500 cyclists from around the globe, further solidifying Venezuela's name at the pinnacle of mountain cycling.
