Severe Heat Wave Predicted Across Multiple Regions
A significant heat wave is set to impact several provinces in the Kingdom from Thursday through Monday, with temperatures expected to range between 34°C and 42°C, according to the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM). The alert indicates a potential increase in heat, particularly affecting regions such as Ouezzane, Meknès, Fès, and Marrakech, among others.
Regional Temperature Forecasts
During the period from Thursday to Saturday, temperatures are projected to fluctuate between 36°C and 41°C across various provinces, including Ouezzane, Meknès, Fès, Taounate, and others. The DGM has issued an orange alert warning for these areas, highlighting the severity of the heat. From Saturday to Monday, the provinces of Aousserd, Oued Ed-Dahab, and Boujdour will experience even higher temperatures, ranging between 39°C and 42°C.
Moreover, the coastal cities such as Agadir, Essaouira, and Safi are also expected to face elevated temperatures between 37°C and 42°C on Thursday and Friday. Other regions, including Casablanca, Rabat, and Mohammedia, will see milder temperatures ranging from 34°C to 38°C, providing a slight reprieve for residents.
