The Moroccan Meteorological Service has issued a new weather alert indicating that the oppressive heat wave will persist throughout the week, particularly through Thursday. This warning comes as temperatures are expected to soar, with forecasts predicting highs of up to 47 degrees Celsius in several regions, prompting an orange-level weather alert for the affected areas.
From Monday to Wednesday, the provinces of Assa-Zag, Es-Semara, Tata, and Zagora will likely experience extreme heat, with recorded temperatures fluctuating between 44 and 47 degrees Celsius. Furthermore, coastal and northern regions such as Essaouira, Driouch, Nador, and Berkane are also bracing for elevated temperatures ranging from 35 to 40 degrees Celsius during the same timeframe.
As the week progresses, the provinces of Sidi Kacem, Khouribga, Settat, El Kalaa Sraghna, Marrakech, and Rehamna will face temperatures between 40 and 44 degrees Celsius from Tuesday to Thursday. Similarly, regions including Jerada, Taourirt, Khemisset, Youssoufia, Beni Mellal, Fquih Ben Salah, Khenifra, Boulemane, Guercif, Oujda-Angad, Taounate, Taza, Ouezzane, Taroudant, and Tinghir will also be under the sway of these high temperatures.
