Severe Heatwave Expected Across Morocco
A significant heatwave is forecasted to impact several provinces in Morocco starting from Friday, June 19, through Sunday, June 21. During this period, temperatures are expected to rise dramatically, reaching as high as 45°C in certain areas, posing health risks to residents and travelers alike.
Regions Affected and Temperature Projections
The General Directorate of Meteorology has issued an orange-level alert indicating that provinces such as Taza, Berkane, Oujda-Angad, Fès, Moulay Yacoub, and Taounate will experience extremely high temperatures ranging from 39 to 42°C on Saturday and Sunday. Furthermore, other areas including Errachidia, Jerada, Taourirt, Figuig, Zagora, Tata, Boujdour, Oued Ed-Dahab, Aousserd, Guercif, and Boulemane are expected to endure even higher temperatures between 40 and 45°C during the same time frame.
