The inaugural day of the "GITEX Africa 2026" event, held in the vibrant city of Marrakech, witnessed a significant presence from institutions dedicated to financing and supporting innovation. Among the notable participants was the National Company for Guarantees and Financing of Enterprises, known as "Tamwilcom," which showcased an extensive program filled with professional meetings and seminars tailored for the emerging business ecosystem.
The program included an opening session featuring partners from the "Innov Invest" fund, along with a presentation on "Startup Venture Building." Furthermore, six prominent players in the startup support sector participated, including "Technopark," "Flat6Labs," and "CEED Maroc," all aimed at enhancing the innovation and entrepreneurship landscape in Morocco.
Additionally, the agenda featured a first seminar titled "Morocco: A Destination for Startups in Evolution," which saw the participation of experts from international institutions such as the World Bank and SFI. This session was designed to discuss the evolution of the startup ecosystem in Morocco and explore funding opportunities available to these businesses.
During the opening of the "Tamwilcom" booth on the first day of the event, Said Jabriani, the General Director of the National Company for Guarantees and Financing of Enterprises, expressed his organization's excitement about participating for the third consecutive time in this forum (GITEX). He emphasized that the company provides a dedicated space for all emerging businesses. This year, they introduced a new initiative signed with the Ministry responsible for digital transition and administrative reform, which features a range of financing mechanisms aimed at the youth.
Jabriani highlighted one of the standout mechanisms known as "La bourse de vie" (the life grant), which is a fixed monthly income that will be awarded to young entrepreneurs with innovative ideas for a full year. This initiative aims to allow them to focus on developing their projects without financial pressure.
The General Director of "Tamwilcom" explained that the new program, set to launch in the coming months, will accept applications from idea holders through six selected support structures. He reiterated that this effort complements the "Innov Invest" program, which has been supporting startups since 2017.
"Tamwilcom's" participation in this event, which has become a continental platform for digital innovation and entrepreneurship, reflects the organization's commitment to strengthening financing mechanisms for youth and startups, especially amidst the accelerating digital transformation and rising demand for innovative financing solutions.
Looking ahead, the organization plans to continue its program throughout the event's upcoming days by organizing seminars and "Startup Talks," alongside signing partnership agreements, thereby reinforcing Morocco's position as a regional hub for the development of the startup ecosystem.
