Hilton's Ambitious Expansion in Morocco
Hilton has announced plans to expand its presence in Morocco by opening 15 new hotels across the country, effectively increasing its total portfolio to 25 establishments in the coming years. This ambitious project will span ten different hotel brands and is expected to generate over 2,000 local jobs while enhancing Morocco's appeal as a prime tourist destination, according to the company's recent press release.
The latest agreements include the introduction of the Tapestry Collection by Hilton in Morocco, in addition to the ongoing expansion of existing brands such as Curio Collection, DoubleTree, and Hilton Garden Inn. This announcement follows the recent opening of the Waldorf Astoria Rabat-Salé, which marks the arrival of the luxury brand in Morocco, located in the iconic Tour Mohammed VI.
A Strategic Move to Capture Market Potential
Hilton's CEO, Chris Nassetta, described Morocco as a "strategically important market," highlighting the substantial growth potential driven by an increasing influx of visitors and opportunities in both established and emerging tourist destinations. Planned projects include Tapestry Collection hotels in Casablanca and Chefchaouen by 2028, a Curio Collection property in Marrakech by 2029, and new coastal developments in Nador and Tétouan.
Currently, Hilton operates 12 hotels in Morocco, with the new pipeline poised to accelerate its expansion across the luxury, upscale, and midscale segments. This strategic approach not only aims to cater to the growing demand for high-quality accommodations but also reinforces Hilton's commitment to enhancing the hospitality landscape in Morocco, positioning the country as a key player in the global tourism market.
