The MAS Basketball Club, representing Fes, has made a triumphant return to the forefront of Moroccan basketball by clinching the prestigious Throne Cup title for the first time in 18 years. In a thrilling final held in Agadir's Embarcation Hall, MAS emerged victorious against the Fath Sport Club with a score of 69-64. This remarkable achievement not only marks a significant milestone in the club's history but also underscores their resurgence in competitive basketball.
The match itself was a nail-biter, showcasing intense competition between both teams. Fath Sport Club initially took the lead, finishing the first half with a narrow edge of 33-30. However, the players from MAS displayed remarkable determination, turning the tide in the closing moments of the game. This victory marks the eighth Throne Cup title for MAS, coming just days after they ascended to the top of the National Championship standings.
MAS secured their place in the final by defeating Ittihad Tangier in the semi-finals, while Fath Sport Club advanced by overcoming Mouloudia of Meknes, which unfortunately exited the competition.
On the women's side, the prestigious Throne Cup was claimed by the Kawkab Marrakech team, who triumphed over Maghreb de Tangier in their final match.
