Celebrating the Life of Jane C. Vella

Jane C. Vella, born on November 22, 1919, in Rabat, Malta, graced this world until her passing on March 14, 2011, at the age of 91. A spirited individual, Jane spent her formative years in San Francisco before relocating to the picturesque Sonoma County, where she became a beloved member of the community. Throughout her life, Jane was a source of joy and inspiration, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Jane is survived by her brother, Charles Borg (Margaret), as well as a large and loving family that includes her children: John, Chuck, Dave, Vicki, Rose, Tom Vella (Liane), and Mena Starling (Jerry). Her family also extends to 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, alongside numerous nieces and nephews who will fondly remember her vibrant spirit. Jane was preceded in death by her son, Joe Vella, whose memory remains deeply cherished by the family.

Known for her vivacity and youthful energy, Jane's personality was as radiant as her smile. In honor of her life, a rosary service is scheduled for March 21, 2011, at Daniels Chapel of the Roses, located at 1225 Sonoma Avenue, starting at 7:00 p.m. Following this, a funeral mass will take place at St. Eugene’s Catholic Church, situated at 2323 Montgomery Drive, Santa Rosa, on March 22, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. Jane will be interred at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Santa Rosa, a final resting place where her spirit can remain close to her loved ones. For those wishing to honor her memory further, memorial donations can be made to the American Heart Association, reflecting Jane's generous heart and concern for the well-being of others.
