New Ombudsman Office Opens in Marrakech to Enhance Citizen Accessibility
On the evening of June 18, 2026, the city of Marrakech witnessed the grand opening of the new regional office of the Ombudsman Institution for the Marrakech-Safi region, located in the "Jnan Al-Afiya" neighborhood at the former premises of the local court. This strategic move is aimed at reinforcing the institution's territorial presence and making its services more accessible to the citizens of the region.
The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Mr. Hassan Tarek, the Ombudsman, and attended by Mr. Issam El-Azouzi, the regional delegate of the institution, alongside various advisors and officials from central administration, as well as regional and local delegates and several staff members of the institution.
Advancing the Ombudsman’s Strategic Vision
The establishment of this new office is a key initiative in implementing the strategic vision of the Ombudsman Institution, which aims to support local governance policies and expand the network of regional structures. This expansion is expected to enhance the quality of reception for complaints, expedite their processing, and facilitate access for citizens to administrative mediation services.
Furthermore, this new space is anticipated to significantly improve procedural fairness and the relationship between the administration and citizens by providing better conditions for receiving, guiding, and supporting individuals at the regional level. The project marks an important milestone in modernizing the services of the Ombudsman Institution and reinforcing principles of good governance and administrative justice, aligning with citizens' expectations for a more accessible and effective administration.
