Shin Yumo, the Director of the Trade Administration in China's Hunan Province, recently praised the business environment in Morocco, stating that the industrial structure of Morocco aligns seamlessly with that of Hunan. This alignment is a key factor in Morocco being chosen as the inaugural location for the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo, which is set to enhance trade relations between the two regions. The Expo coincides with the tenth anniversary of the strategic partnership established between Morocco and China, which is expected to facilitate Moroccan products' entry into the Chinese market more swiftly. Additionally, it will aid leading industries in Hunan in establishing a stronger presence in North Africa, ultimately deepening the integration of industrial supply chains and injecting new momentum into high-quality economic and trade cooperation between China, Morocco, and Africa as a whole.
Data released by the Hunan Trade Department indicates that the international expansion of the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo has yielded impressive results. Previous editions of the Expo held in Kenya resulted in the signing of 37 on-site projects valued at approximately $891 million, along with coordination for an additional 34 projects. In 2025, Hunan's trade volume with Africa reached 58 billion yuan, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 5.8%. During the first four months of this year, trade volume soared to 18.16 billion yuan, marking an 8.8% increase, while the number of registered Hunan companies investing in Africa has doubled.
