Injuries Disrupt Morocco's World Cup Preparations

Injury Concerns for Moroccan National Team Ahead of World Cup

The Moroccan national football team is currently facing significant challenges in its preparations for the World Cup, particularly as they gear up for their opening match against Brazil. During a training session, three key players were notably absent due to injuries, raising concerns about the team's readiness for the prestigious tournament.

Among those missing were Abdessamad Ezzalzouli, Noussair Mazraoui, and Anas Salah Eddine. Ezzalzouli, the winger for Real Betis, suffered a right knee sprain during a recent friendly against Norway, which has been described as the most serious of the injuries. In addition, Mazraoui, a defender for Manchester United, sustained a shoulder injury just 30 minutes into the same match. Anas Salah Eddine, the left-back for PSV Eindhoven, has been sidelined with a muscle injury that kept him from participating in both the recent training sessions and the friendly match against Norway. This situation poses a significant challenge for the team, especially given the lack of a ready replacement for the left-wing position.

Reports indicate that the team's coach, Mohamed Wahbi, has opted to keep Ezzalzouli in hopes of his recovery by their third group stage match against Haiti on June 25, or potentially before the knockout rounds commence. On a positive note, Nayef Aguerd from Marseille, Achraf Hakimi from Paris Saint-Germain, and Ibrahim Diaz from Real Madrid were able to participate fully in training, providing a glimmer of hope for the Moroccan squad.
