International Conference on Digital Media Held in Fes
The lecture hall at the Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences at Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University in Fes is set to host an international conference titled "Digital Media and Society: Future and Challenges." This significant event, organized by the Laboratory of Literary and Linguistic Studies and Media and Communication Sciences, will take place on March 25-26, 2026. The conference aims to explore the multifaceted relationship between digital media and various societal aspects.
The program of the conference includes an opening session followed by four scientific sessions where 30 research papers will be presented and discussed. These papers will be delivered by a distinguished group of professors and experts from academic institutions in Morocco, the UAE, and Egypt, along with contributions from numerous doctoral students. The presentations will cover critical topics such as the impact of digital media on citizenship, public opinion formation, artificial intelligence, societal values, media disinformation, media education, international public opinion management, transformations in socialization, political awareness, freedom of expression, professional regulation challenges, media platforms, and the geostrategic project stakes of the Kingdom.
It is noteworthy that the Laboratory of Literary and Linguistic Studies and Media and Communication Sciences engages with various issues, including media ethics, professional communication education, and skills and techniques for institutional communication. Furthermore, the laboratory has previously organized several conferences in the fields of media, communication, literary criticism, and the arts. Recently, it published a book entitled "Advocacy for the Moroccan Sahara amidst International and Regional Transformations," under the administration of Dr. Mohamed Al-Qasimi, a professor at the Faculty of Arts in Fes.
