International Drug Trafficker Arrested in Marrakech
On Thursday, August 27, authorities in Marrakech apprehended a 34-year-old French national who is the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by French judicial authorities. The arrest was executed by the local police's judicial branch, following a thorough investigation into the suspect's alleged involvement in a criminal network engaged in international drug trafficking between Spain and France.
According to security sources, the suspect was identified through the International Criminal Police Organization’s (Interpol) database, which revealed that he was wanted under a red notice requested by the National Central Bureau in Paris. This notice indicates serious allegations linking him to organized crime activities, particularly in the illicit drug trade.
In compliance with the directives from the competent public prosecutor's office, the suspect has been placed under police custody. Meanwhile, Interpol's Rabat office has promptly informed its French counterpart about the arrest, initiating the process for extradition.
