On Monday, July 13, the police in the Marrakech Security Directorate successfully apprehended a 30-year-old individual holding Moroccan, Tunisian, and French citizenship. This arrest was executed based on an international arrest warrant issued by judicial authorities in France.
The suspect was detained during a security operation in the city of Marrakech. A check in the database of the International Criminal Police Organization, known as Interpol, revealed that he was wanted internationally under a Red Notice. This notice had been issued at the request of the National Central Bureau in Paris due to his conviction to serve a 30-year prison sentence related to his involvement in a case of intentional homicide using a firearm.
Initial investigation data indicate that the suspect was involved in a premeditated murder with a firearm in September 2017, which took place in the public streets of Vitry sur Seine, France. Following his arrest, the suspect has been placed in custody, pending further judicial investigations conducted by the National Judicial Police under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office. The inquiry aims to explore the criminal acts attributed to him in the context of the official foreign complaint, necessitating adherence to national legal procedures due to his Moroccan nationality.
