Police Crackdown on Illegal Alcohol Trade in Marrakech

In a significant operation aimed at combating the illicit trade of alcoholic beverages and drugs, police officers from the judicial police department in the Menara area of Marrakech apprehended two individuals on the evening of Tuesday, July 14. These suspects were caught red-handed in possession of substantial quantities of "Mahia," a traditional Moroccan alcoholic beverage, which they were allegedly preparing for distribution outside the legal framework.

According to available information, the security operation yielded a considerable amount of Mahia, alongside numerous bottles of alcohol believed to be intended for illegal sale. Additionally, a quantity of cannabis was confiscated from the arrested individuals, further underscoring the seriousness of the offense.

The suspects were promptly taken to the local police station, where they are currently under judicial investigation supervised by the competent public prosecutor's office. This investigation aims to uncover all circumstances and details surrounding the case, as well as to identify any possible extensions of this criminal activity before the necessary legal actions are taken against them.
