Investment for Urban Mobility: Casablanca's RER Stations
The Moroccan government is set to significantly enhance urban mobility in Casablanca with an ambitious project involving the construction of nine new RER (Réseau Express Régional) stations, as part of a larger strategy to improve the public transport infrastructure ahead of 2030. This initiative, spearheaded by the ONCF (National Railway Office), has recently taken a major step forward with the announcement of an open tender structured into two main lots for the construction of these essential transit hubs.
The first lot encompasses the construction of stations at Mohammedia Facultés, Zenata Industrielle, Sidi Bernoussi, and Aïn Sebaâ, aimed at improving accessibility and facilitating more efficient transit options for the residents of Casablanca and surrounding areas. The second lot is expected to cover additional stations, although specific details on these locations have yet to be revealed. This substantial investment, exceeding 400 million MAD, underlines the government's commitment to modernize the transportation network and provide reliable services for the rapidly growing population of the economic capital of Morocco.
