Is Mount 'Fas' Hiding Iran's Nuclear Program? Expert Explains (Video)

Mount 'Fas': A Hidden Nuclear Threat?

On July 25, 2026, Lieutenant General Dr. Said Ghoneim, a visiting professor at NATO and the Royal Military Academy in Brussels, revealed significant concerns regarding Mount 'Fas', which has become a focal point of contention in the escalating tensions between Washington and Tehran. Dr. Ghoneim highlighted that discussions regarding this mountain have been ongoing since 2020, with indications that it serves as a site equipped to house components of Iran's nuclear program.

During an interview with Ahmed Salem on the program "Final Word" aired on ON channel, Dr. Ghoneim cited recent reports suggesting that advanced centrifuges have been relocated deep within the mountain, at depths exceeding 100 meters. Alarmingly, some radioactive materials have reportedly achieved enrichment levels surpassing 60%, raising serious concerns about their potential conversion into nuclear weapons.

Dr. Ghoneim emphasized that the United States does not require additional justifications to rationalize its military actions before the international community. However, he noted that such information is often presented as a pretext to Congress to secure approval for continued military operations. Despite Iran's vehement denial of any nuclear activities within Mount 'Fas', the fervent defense of the site only fuels suspicions regarding the authenticity of the operations taking place inside.
