Israeli Air Force Participates in Marrakech Air Show
This week marked a significant milestone as a delegation from the Israeli Air Force participated in the Marrakech Air Show, representing Israel's first official appearance at this event since the trilateral agreement between Morocco, the United States, and Israel was signed on December 22, 2020. The announcement was made by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in a statement released on Saturday, October 10, 2026.
The IDF emphasized that the Marrakech Air Show serves as a platform that welcomes commanders and high-ranking officials from air forces worldwide, including those from Africa, the Arab world, Europe, and the United States. The presence of the Israeli delegation signifies a new chapter in strengthening professional relations and mutual trust between the Israeli Air Force and the Royal Moroccan Air Forces.
Strengthening Strategic Ties
During the visit, Colonel A., head of the training department, held a face-to-face meeting with the commander of the Royal Moroccan Air Forces. The discussions focused on enhancing strategic ties and continuing cooperation between the two air forces, highlighting the importance of collaboration in defense matters.
Last Thursday, Colonel A., accompanied by the military attaché from Israel's liaison office in Morocco, Colonel Sharon Eitah, engaged in a series of professional meetings and toured the booths of Israeli companies at the exhibition. This event also marked the first time the Israeli Defense Ministry's International Defense Cooperation Directorate, known as SIBAT, hosted a national pavilion and led a delegation of industrial representatives at the show.
Eight Israeli defense companies showcased their combat-tested technologies, which included loitering munitions, AI-powered robotic systems, autonomous navigation capabilities for drones, laser guidance for FPV drones, and satellite communication systems. Notably, five companies exhibited at the national pavilion, including Asio Technologies, which develops navigation and command systems that remain operational when GPS is jammed, and Orbit Communication Systems, known for its satellite communication terminals.
Major Israeli defense groups such as Elbit Systems, Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems were also present, showcasing a diverse range of capabilities from land systems and drones to advanced radar and missile technologies.
Brigadier General (Res.) Yair Kulas, head of SIBAT, remarked, "This first participation of Israel in an exhibition in Morocco represents a significant milestone for the Defense Ministry and the Israeli defense industry," emphasizing that the technologies presented are proven in combat and embody innovations in autonomy, AI, and communications. He described SIBAT as a gateway to the Israeli defense ecosystem and highlighted the show as a vital platform for expanding international cooperation and building lasting partnerships.
