According to recent reports, a significant meeting took place at the headquarters of the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) in Rabat, lasting approximately 45 minutes. The discussions commenced with a private meeting between El Mansouri and Baraka, after which Ahmed Akhchichine and Fouzi Lekjaa joined them. Both Akhchichine and Lekjaa are members of the commission tasked with supporting the designated head of government in negotiations for the formation of the new government.

Part of the negotiations focused on the governmental structure and the sectors that the Istiqlal Party aims to oversee in the upcoming mandate. The party has expressed a desire to retain several departments that it managed in the previous government, including Equipment and Water, Industry and Commerce, Foreign Trade, as well as Transport and Logistics.

Furthermore, the Istiqlal Party has shown interest in additional portfolios, such as Health, Agriculture, Culture and Communication, along with the Ministry of Parliamentary Relations and the government spokesperson role.

Regarding the composition of the forthcoming parliamentary majority, there are reported reservations within Istiqlal concerning the participation of the Socialist Union of Popular Forces (USFP). These reservations primarily stem from concerns about the future adherence to the majority charter and the shared positions among the parties.

These concerns arise amidst debates that characterized the extraordinary session of the National Council of Istiqlal, where some members accused the former president of the National Rally of Independents (RNI), Aziz Akhannouch, of supporting USFP candidates in various constituencies during the last elections.

The National Council of Istiqlal had authorized Nizar Baraka to lead negotiations regarding the party's participation in the next government. Likewise, the National Council of PAM tasked El Mansouri with continuing consultations for the government formation, supported by a commission comprising Fouzi Lekjaa, Ahmed Akhchichine, and Abdellatif Ouahbi.
