Call for Self-Determination of the Sahrawi People
In a significant political move, Izquierda Unida (IU), a coalition government partner in Spain, has publicly demanded the "right to self-determination for the Sahrawi people." Enrique Santiago, the spokesperson for IU in Congress, made a visit to Tindouf to underscore this important advocacy. Criticism of Government Policy
As a minority partner in the coalition government, IU has consistently voiced its disapproval of Sánchez's controversial pivot. During his visit to Tindouf, Enrique Santiago urged the international community to take urgent action to facilitate a referendum, asserting that this is the only viable path to ensure that the heroic Sahrawi people can attain the peace they rightfully deserve.
