In an exciting development for the hospitality sector, renowned British fashion designer Jasper Conran is set to transform the historic Hazelbury Manor, a Grade I-listed mansion located near Box and Corsham in Wiltshire, into a luxurious boutique hotel. This endeavor marks Conran's inaugural foray into the UK hotel industry, complementing his existing portfolio of two boutique hotels situated in Morocco: Villa Mabrouka in Tangier and L’Hôtel Marrakech in Marrakech.
Conran acquired the 500-year-old property last year for a guide price of £8.5 million, and he has recently received the green light from Wiltshire Council to repurpose the estate from residential use to hospitality. As the director of Hazelbury Manor Limited, a company registered in April 2025, Conran is poised to curate an exceptional hospitality experience that will not only enhance the local visitor economy but also celebrate the rich heritage of the manor.
The ambitious renovation plans for Hazelbury Manor include the creation of 12 well-appointed hotel suites within the main house, alongside additional accommodations located in charming outhouses on the estate. These will feature three suites in the Dower House and eight suites in the Granary, ensuring guests enjoy both comfort and elegance in a historical setting.
Originally dating back to the 14th century, Hazelbury Manor underwent significant restoration and expansion in the 1920s. It served as a girls’ school from 1943 until 1971, after which it returned to private residential use. The vision for the hotel is to provide a high-quality hospitality offering that captures the essence of this magnificent building while catering to the needs of modern travelers.
