Jeanne Sadran Captivates the Crowd in Rabat

The CSI2* Grand Prix at 1.45 meters during the Morocco Royal Tour brought an exhilarating conclusion that showcased the thrill of equestrian sports. While the Saudi rider Abdullah Alsharbatly seemed poised for victory, French equestrian Jeanne Sadran had other plans. In a stunning final performance during the jump-off, Sadran, riding her impressive steed Funky Boy des Rêves, clinched the Interior Ministry Prize with a remarkable display of speed and control. The event also saw Brazilian Yuri Mansur shine in the CSIO4*-W category, securing the Maroc Telecom Prize at 1.50 meters aboard My Lady Lavista.

A Dramatic Finale

The outcome of the Grand Prix hinged on the final competitor of the day. A total of fourteen pairs qualified for the jump-off, each aiming to strike the perfect balance between speed, precision, and risk-taking. Until that moment, Alsharbatly and his horse Kanturo BH had set a formidable benchmark with a time of 36.31 seconds. However, Sadran, the last to enter the arena, was ready to challenge the status quo.

From the moment she began her round, Sadran established an impressive pace with Funky Boy des Rêves. Rather than solely focusing on speed, she crafted her jump-off strategy around highly effective lines and turns. Her sharp corners and smart distance choices allowed her to gain ground without sacrificing the quality of her jumps. Upon crossing the finish line, the clock revealed a stunning time of 35.89 seconds, a full 0.42 seconds faster than the leading time. This exceptional performance not only secured a prestigious international victory for Sadran but also underscored the strong partnership she shares with her horse.

Sadran emphasized Funky Boy des Rêves’ natural speed and spirited personality, traits that she expertly harnesses during critical moments. This victory marks yet another milestone in her broader preparation for upcoming competitions. Following her success in Rabat, Sadran aims to continue her Moroccan tour in El Jadida, setting her sights on the indoor season and the World Cup circuit, with aspirations of reaching the finals once again.

In the overall standings, Alsharbatly had to settle for second place despite his outstanding performance with Kanturo BH, which kept him in contention until Sadran's final run. Colombian rider Santiago Diaz Ortega rounded out the podium, finishing third with Maximus Quantum Leap in a time of 36.64 seconds, just 0.75 seconds behind Sadran's remarkable time.
