Key Responsibilities of the EMEA Middle Office Analyst
As a vital member of Bernstein SG’s Operations team, the EMEA Middle Office Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless processing and oversight of cash equity transactions across the EMEA High Touch and Electronic sectors. Reporting to the Middle Office Manager, you will engage in various essential tasks such as trade allocation, confirmation, referential data processing, and reconciliation activities, all while delivering exceptional service to both trading desks and clients, whether internal or external. Operating within a Follow the Sun model, your role will require direct communication in French with clients who speak the language, thus collaborating effectively with various departments including Operations, Trading, Client Service, Finance, Technology, and outsourced service providers.
Your primary duties will encompass the processing and monitoring of trades and allocations through approved systems, ensuring that client-side transactions are confirmed accurately and within stipulated deadlines. You will confidently communicate in French, both verbally and in writing, addressing any queries from French-speaking clients, including those related to allocations, confirmations, operational issues, and resolution of problems. Additionally, you will provide timely support to trading desks and clients by managing priority queries and keeping track of trade statuses and operational exceptions.
In this role, you will also be responsible for processing approved referential data and sub-account requests accurately, ensuring that all supporting evidence and audit records are maintained properly. Daily tasks will include exception monitoring, report validations, control checks, and front-to-back reconciliations to identify any potential operational or settlement risks. You will investigate straightforward breaks using available information and escalate any material or complex issues appropriately. Furthermore, you will support the EMEA High Touch and Electronic equity businesses by ensuring clear communication and handovers within the Follow the Sun operating framework.

To thrive in this position, professional proficiency in French is a must, enabling clear communication with French-speaking clients through various channels such as telephone and email, alongside a good command of written and spoken English. A solid understanding of the cash equity trade lifecycle and Middle Office activities—including trade allocation, confirmation, and reconciliation controls—is essential for success in this role.
