Discover the Impact of Agroecology in Morocco
On March 12th at 6:30 PM, a significant virtual meeting will be held at the chapel of the Terre Rouge parish center, located on Camille Desmoulins Street. Organized by the local team of CCFD-Terre Solidaire, this event invites everyone to connect and engage in meaningful dialogue about vital initiatives aimed at fostering hope and sustainable development. As the first French NGO focused on international solidarity and development, CCFD-Terre Solidaire has been championing the fight against hunger and injustice for over 65 years, standing alongside those who strive for a better future.
This virtual gathering will spotlight the activities of “Terre et Humanisme Maroc” (THM), an organization founded in 2005 that promotes agroecology in Morocco. Agroecology is not only a farming practice that respects natural ecosystems but also a holistic approach to sustainable agriculture. THM works tirelessly to support family farming and enhance the autonomy of farmers across the nation. Through awareness campaigns, advocacy, and training programs, the organization empowers local communities to adopt agroecological methods.
One of THM’s most impactful initiatives is the “Women Seed Producers” project, launched in 2011, which addresses the marginalization of women's roles in agriculture. This program recognizes women as pivotal players in farming and equips them with the skills to produce and preserve local seeds. Furthermore, it fosters income-generating activities through the sale of these seeds, thus enhancing their economic empowerment. This upcoming videoconference will provide participants with a unique opportunity to engage with representatives from THM, gaining insights into their actions and the tangible results achieved on the ground.
How to Participate
Everyone is encouraged to attend the meeting on Thursday, March 12th, at 6:30 PM, to learn more about these inspiring initiatives. This event promises to be a platform for information sharing, conversation, and support for projects that are making a significant difference in the lives of many. Don’t miss this chance to be part of a movement that seeks to create a sustainable and equitable future.
