Jordan and Morocco Forge New Partnership for Industrial Estate Development

Jordan and Morocco Unite for Industrial Growth

On July 25, 2026, the Jordan Industrial Estates Corporation (JIEC) entered into a significant twinning agreement with MedZ, a subsidiary of Morocco's Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion (CDG) Group, during a ceremony held in Rabat. This partnership aims to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and expertise in the field of industrial estates, marking a pivotal moment in enhancing economic collaboration between the two nations.

The memorandum of understanding establishes a comprehensive framework for cooperation, focusing on the development of industrial estates and economic activity zones. Both parties committed to sharing best practices and experiences that span the various stages of industrial estate projects. This collaboration is particularly relevant in attracting investments, enhancing the industrial and logistical services available to investors, and fostering sustainability, innovation, and digital transformation within industrial cities.

Notably, this agreement builds upon existing cooperation frameworks and aims to serve as a foundation for advancing further shared initiatives. Both Jordan and Morocco boast similar experiences in managing and promoting industrial cities, which will undoubtedly benefit both parties as they strive to improve their respective economic landscapes. JIEC Chairman Obied Yassin expressed admiration for Morocco's expertise in industrial city development, emphasizing that Jordan is eager to leverage this knowledge, especially as it embarks on a transformative vision for its industrial estates.

Furthermore, JIEC General Manager Uday Obeidat highlighted that this memorandum complements ongoing cooperation efforts and will enable Jordanian industrial estates to utilize Moroccan expertise, particularly in investment promotion and digital transformation of services and supply chains. MedZ CEO Marwan Abdel-Aati remarked that this agreement lays the groundwork for future cooperation, which was the result of joint discussions and field visits aimed at identifying mutually beneficial areas amid global shifts in this sector.
