KAI Targets Morocco's Advanced Trainer Program
Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) is making significant strides in promoting its FA-50 aircraft, aiming to tap into Morocco's advanced trainer aircraft procurement program. The company is also exploring opportunities to export fighter jets and helicopters to key markets in Africa and the Middle East. As part of this initiative, KAI is participating in the Marrakech Air Show 2026, which is taking place from October 7 to 10 in Morocco. Notably, KAI is the sole South Korean company represented at this prestigious event.
At the show, KAI has established a dedicated exhibition space specifically for the FA-50, emphasizing its capabilities in both advanced training and light combat missions. This strategic move aligns with the Moroccan Air Force's requirements for modern trainer aircraft. KAI plans to leverage its extensive experience and successful track record in exporting to countries like Poland, the Philippines, and Malaysia, showcasing the FA-50's operational reliability and versatility.
The exhibition booth not only highlights the FA-50 but also features other advanced military technologies such as the Korean fighter KF-21, the Marine Attack Helicopter (MAH), and the armed helicopter MIRON. Throughout the event, KAI is set to engage with government and military officials from Morocco, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Saudi Arabia, aimed at forging new partnerships and expanding its export portfolio.
