Kawkab Marrakech Implements Strategic Changes for Future Success
On July 17, the board of directors of Kawkab Marrakech convened to address several critical issues, aiming to establish a new sports project that aligns with the club's ambitions and meets the expectations of its vast fanbase. A key decision from this meeting was the appointment of the national coach, Mustapha Guindar, as the sporting director of the first team. Guindar will continue in his role as the technical director responsible for training and youth categories within the Kawkab Marrakech Academy.
Mustapha Guindar is a well-respected figure in the national sports scene, possessing extensive experience in player development. Many athletes from Marrakech have trained under his guidance before making a mark in other clubs within the national championship. His appointment underscores the club's commitment to strengthening the connection between the Academy and the first team, making training a significant driver of sports development.
This new organizational structure comes at a time of comprehensive restructuring for the club, which also included the confirmation of Zaid Belinda as the general director of the sports company. Belinda’s mission will focus on overseeing administrative matters and coordinating the various sectors within the organization.
However, the crux of the matter transcends personnel changes; the true challenge lies in the management methods and governance. The success of a sports project does not rest solely on appointments but also relies on a clear definition of responsibilities, enhanced coordination among different areas, and a results-oriented culture based on accountability and assessment.
Infrastructure Developments for Enhanced Performance
In terms of infrastructure, club president Idriss Hanifa presented several structural projects aimed at bolstering the material foundations of Kawkab Marrakech. Among the announced initiatives is the installation of natural grass at the Larbi Ben M’barek Stadium, the upgrading of El Kanssouli training grounds with synthetic grass, and the preparation of land necessary for the construction of a new training center.
These projects represent a crucial step for a club aspiring to reclaim its rightful place, reflecting its rich history and potential. The modernization of infrastructure is now an essential condition for developing training, showcasing local talent, and ensuring greater sporting stability.
Furthermore, the board of directors of the Kawkab Marrakech sports company held its inaugural meeting since its establishment on July 23, 2023. The meeting, attended by the company president and board members, including Berada, Hanich, Dekouane, and Mazouari, as well as the first vice-president of the association and the general director, allowed for the finalization of several important matters. This included the official announcement of Youssef Safri’s appointment as the head of the technical team and the confirmation of Zaid Belinda as the general director of the sports company.
Additionally, the board decided to replace three bureau members with new officials as part of the ongoing internal reorganization. As Kawkab Marrakech embarks on this new chapter, marked by new appointments, institutional realignment, and infrastructure projects, the anticipation remains high regarding the leadership's ability to translate these decisions into concrete actions. A clear sports project, effective governance, and a sustainable vision are essential for the club to gradually reclaim its natural position in national football.
