Al-Masry Prepares for First Friendly Match in Marrakech
The Al-Masry football team is gearing up for its inaugural friendly match during its closed training camp in Marrakech, Morocco. This preparation is a crucial step as they look ahead to the new league season, which kicks off with a match against Smouha at the Suez Stadium on August 22. However, the team faces a significant challenge as four key players will be absent from this initial encounter.
Coach Emad Nasr is currently dealing with the absence of essential players, namely Mohamed Makhlouf, Ahmed Al-Qarmouti, Abd Al-Wahab Nader, and Ahmed Sharaf, who have not traveled to the Moroccan camp due to administrative reasons. These players have been consistently following a specialized training program in Port Said, which has prevented their participation in the training camp.
Despite this setback, Nasr remains hopeful that some of these players might join the team in Marrakech if the administrative staff can resolve the issues surrounding their travel. The team from Port Said has resumed their daily training sessions in Marrakech following their arrival from Cairo, with a stopover at Casablanca Airport. All 23 players, including goalkeepers Mohamed Seha, Mahmoud Hamdy, Essam Tharwat, Mohamed Shehata, and Ahmed Wahab, participated in the training.
Director of football, Saif Dawood, praised the commitment of the players during the early hours of the camp, emphasizing the importance of this training period in preparing them for the crucial opening matches of the league.
