In a remarkable achievement that highlights resilience against adversity, Khadija Farhat emerged as the top student in her region, ranking first among the successful candidates in the province of Qalaat al-Sraghna and fifth overall in the region for the academic year 2025/2026. This success story unfolded at the Second Chance School of the new generation in Tamallalte, where the overall pass rate for the third preparatory year reached an impressive 78%. Furthermore, in vocational training, the success rate soared to an astounding 100%.

According to statistics provided by Abdel Latif Shouki, the Director of the Regional Academy for Education and Training in the Marrakech-Safi region, there are currently 21 centers in the region serving over 2,400 beneficiaries during the 2025-2026 academic year. There are ambitious plans to expand this network to 46 centers, targeting more than 4,000 beneficiaries starting from the 2026-2027 academic year. Shouki emphasized the academy's strategic priority of combating school dropout rates and reintegrating youth who have left the educational system, driven by a firm belief that every young person deserves a new opportunity to build their future.
This expansion will also include the establishment of transitional classes in leading middle schools, digital classrooms in remote areas, and outreach to correctional institutions, thereby enhancing regional equity and broadening access to training and integration opportunities. He praised the crucial role played by local authorities, government sectors, civil society organizations, and economic actors in ensuring the success of this initiative.
The annual regional forum for Second Chance Centers, held under the theme "Together We Create a New Opportunity and Build a Better Future," featured presentations on the frameworks guiding the work of these centers, analyses of school dropout indicators in the Marrakech-Safi region, and an overview of preventive measures adopted by the academy to minimize school dropouts. These measures include support programs, revitalizing school life, and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure continuity in education.
