King Mohammed VI Encourages Moroccan Pilgrims to Uphold Islamic Values

In a heartfelt address, King Mohammed VI, the Commander of the Faithful, has called upon Moroccan pilgrims to embody the values and ideals of their nation as they embark on their pilgrimage to the Holy Sites of Islam for the year 1447 AH. The Monarch emphasized the importance of representing Morocco with dignity and reflecting the rich cultural heritage for which his ancestors were historically celebrated. He urged pilgrims to embrace values such as integrity, proper conduct, solidarity, and deep devotion to God, stating, "Represent your country, Morocco, and reflect the vibrant civilization for which my ancestors were renowned throughout history." This civilization, as he articulated, is deeply rooted in unity, cohesion, and a commitment to both religious and national values characterized by moderation and balance.

In his address, delivered by Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs Ahmed Toufiq as the first group of pilgrims departed from Rabat-Salé airport, King Mohammed VI underlined the importance of being worthy ambassadors for Morocco. He noted that the values and principles ingrained in the Moroccan identity have been instrumental in ensuring the nation's security and stability, facilitating its path toward progress and prosperity under his leadership. The King implored pilgrims to uphold these ideals, which include sincere brotherhood, unwavering tolerance, beautiful patience, and effective solidarity.

The Monarch also highlighted the preparations undertaken by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs to ensure a smooth pilgrimage season, encompassing aspects such as planning, organization, and spiritual guidance. He urged Moroccan pilgrims to adhere strictly to the guidelines and arrangements established by the Ministry to enhance their comfort during their travels and stay. These arrangements aim to facilitate the performance of rituals in the best possible manner, supported by multidisciplinary teams of specialists—comprising religious scholars, medical professionals, and administrative staff—who will be available to assist pilgrims throughout their journey.

Furthermore, King Mohammed VI reminded the pilgrims of the importance of following the organizational measures implemented by the Saudi authorities. This adherence is vital for ensuring a seamless Hajj season, in alignment with the wise directives of King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. He expressed his appreciation for the strong fraternal ties between Morocco and Saudi Arabia, reinforcing the bonds shared between their peoples.
