Lasobio Launches State-of-the-Art Manufacturing Plant
On September 8, 2023, the Moroccan laboratory Lasobio inaugurated a cutting-edge industrial facility in Casablanca, backed by a substantial investment of 100 million dirhams. This facility is dedicated to the production of dietary supplements, cosmetics, and functional beverages, and aims to serve as a hub for national entrepreneurs and professionals looking to develop their own products and brands. Covering an area of 2,500 square meters, the new plant boasts the capability to produce items in seven different forms, with an impressive production capacity of three million units per form.
Pioneering Local Production and Sustainability
The design of this facility emphasizes product quality and raw material traceability, utilizing ingredients that have been validated through clinical studies. A highlight of the plant is its incorporation of a plant extraction method, enabling the local transformation of Moroccan medicinal plants. Additionally, it employs molecular transformation processes to produce certain dosage forms that were previously unavailable in Morocco, including functional beverages and serums. Lasobio is committed to leveraging its industrial capacity to collaborate with other sector professionals, positioning itself as a key partner in the realms of dietary supplements, functional beverages, and cosmetics.
The workforce at the plant is expected to initially comprise around sixty employees, with projections indicating that, once fully operational by 2030, it could create over 150 direct jobs and nearly 500 indirect jobs. This investment is also set to fuel Lasobio's international expansion, with its German brand, H3R LAB, expected to be available in more than 1,000 retail locations across Germany by January 2027. Furthermore, exports to the UK are slated to commence later that same year, alongside the establishment of international partnerships, including a collaboration with the British functional beverage company Goodrays.
