Latest Developments in the "Grilled Meat Vendor" Case in Marrakech

Significant Updates on the Marrakech Grilled Meat Incident

The latest insights from sources close to the investigation reveal that the individual who filed a complaint regarding food poisoning after dining at a renowned grilled meat restaurant in Marrakech is not a Saudi prince, as previously speculated. Instead, this person is a Moroccan national residing in Germany, who works at a commercial center there. On June 15, he visited the restaurant in question and consumed a dish known as "Tanjia." Following his meal, he reported experiencing food poisoning, prompting the authorities to initiate an investigation into the matter.

In response to the incident, a mixed inspection team visited the establishment to assess the conditions under which the meals are prepared, stored, and served. The inspection revealed several observations and violations concerning food safety standards, which were documented in an official report. In addition, law enforcement agencies conducted an interview with the restaurant owner as part of the ongoing investigation. Subsequently, the public prosecutor decided to release him pending further inquiries, which was executed on the morning of Thursday, June 18.

As the investigation continues, attention remains focused on the public prosecutor’s forthcoming decisions regarding this case, awaiting the results of the ongoing research and the reports pertaining to the inspection findings and expert evaluations.
