Major Drug Bust in Fes: Police Collaboration Leads to Arrests
In a significant operation coordinated by the Fes Security Directorate and the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance, law enforcement successfully apprehended two individuals suspected of involvement in drug possession and trafficking. The arrests occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, June 2, when the suspects were intercepted at the entrance of the city of Fes, having arrived in a truck from a northern city in Morocco. During the search operation, authorities discovered a staggering 691 kilograms of cannabis resin in their possession.
The apprehended suspects are currently under police custody while the judicial investigation, overseen by the competent public prosecutor's office, seeks to uncover all the circumstances surrounding this case. This includes identifying any potential connections to broader criminal activities linked to drug trafficking. This operation is part of the ongoing and intensive efforts by the National Police and the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance to combat the distribution of narcotics and psychoactive substances across the region.
