The political bureau of the Democratic Left Federation has officially finalized its list of candidates for local and regional electoral districts as part of the "Left Alliance," in preparation for the elections scheduled for September 2026. Following a meeting held on August 9, the party announced the ratification of the comprehensive list of electoral agents after receiving nominations from regional councils and branches, ensuring compliance with the nomination procedures.
This newly announced list encompasses 11 regions and features a variety of names selected by the Democratic Left Federation to represent the alliance's lists in local and regional districts. In the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, the federation has appointed Yassine El Fassi as the candidate for the Al Hoceima district, Osama Benmassoud for Larache, Abdullah Ahssisen for Al Fahs-Anjra, Idriss Aftis for Tetouan, Yahya Al Bayari for Mdiq-Fnideq, and Mustafa Chernan for Ouazzane.
In the Eastern region, Jamila Halouane has been designated to lead the regional list, while Mustafa Adnin will represent Jerada, Mohamed Kouhkouh for Guercif, and Mohamed Talha for Figuig. The Fez-Meknes region's list includes Fatima Zahra Jamahri for Ifrane, Abdelkader Khamou for Boulemane, Said Tahiri for Taza, Mohamed El Hashimi for Taounate-Tissa, Abdelhadi El Hilali for Southern Fez, and Asma Zaim for El Hajeb.
In the Rabat-Salé-Kenitra region, the leadership of the regional list has been entrusted to Souad Farikch, alongside Abdel Monsef Hanin for Khmissat-Oulmes, Mahmoud Omar Benjelloun for Rabat Al-Muhit, Khalid Rahal for Skhirat-Témara, Hamza Bouhlid for Tiflet-Rammani, Idriss Hamad for Salé city, and Nour Eddine Zaimi for Sidi Kacem. The Beni Mellal-Khenifra region sees Lubna Halmawi as the leader of the regional list, with Rachid Mchich as the candidate for Beni Mellal district.
In the Casablanca-Settat region, Nabila Jalal heads the regional list, with Fatima Zahra Tamani for Ain Sebaâ-Hay Mohammadi, Hamid Abou Al-Fadl for El Jadida, Youssef Chawi for Al Fida-Mers Sultan, and Al-Hussein Yamani for Mohammedia, among others. The Marrakech-Safi region’s list is led by Fatima Zahra Abdoon, with candidates including Said Lamghari for Safi and Younes Al-Kawati for Gueliz-Nakhil.
In the Drâa-Tafilalet region, the list includes Abdel Ali Naim for Ouarzazate and Aziz Eider for Tinghir, while Sana Fawzi leads the regional list in the Souss-Massa region, alongside Issam El Hammoumi for Inzegane-Ait Melloul and Moulay Hicham Ashraf for Southern Taroudant.
In the Guelmim-Oued Noun region, the federation has selected Aziz Tomsine for the Klemim district, while Rania Al-Aiyashi leads the regional list for Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra, along with Said Bouali for the Tarfaia district. The Democratic Left Federation is gearing up for the upcoming legislative elections as part of an electoral alliance with the Unified Socialist Party under the name "Left Alliance," aiming to consolidate the presence of democratic left components in the forthcoming elections.
The political bureau emphasized that the selection of candidates aligns with the party's direction to present "committed competencies to the issues of the homeland and the people," asserting that the nominations reflect a commitment to democratic choice and political engagement. In its statement, the party congratulated the chosen candidates, expressing hope that their nominations will serve as a platform for engagement with citizens, advocating for the democratic left project, and continuing the struggle for the establishment of a state governed by law and order, combating corruption, and defending citizens' dignity.
