Leon Baptiste, a British athletics coach and two-time medalist at the Commonwealth Games, has been sentenced to eight months in a Moroccan prison for sexual assault against a minor, according to confirmation from Moroccan authorities. The announcement follows several days of speculation regarding Baptiste's whereabouts, which had raised concerns within the sports community. Baptiste, aged 41, was initially detained on May 9 in Marrakech and faced a ten-month sentence imposed by the local court. However, following an appeal, his sentence was reduced to eight months.
