Strengthening Trade Ties Between Libya and Morocco
The Libyan Export Development Authority (LEDA) has recently engaged in discussions with the Moroccan Embassy aimed at enhancing trade relations and fostering economic cooperation between Libya and Morocco. In a meeting held on July 20, 2026, LEDA's head, Mohamed Al-Hangari, welcomed Hicham El-Rafqi, the Deputy Consul General of Morocco, to explore collaborative avenues that could significantly boost export activities.
During the meeting, both parties delved into various mechanisms that could facilitate enhanced cooperation on export development. A key focus was placed on improving communication and collaboration between public and private sector institutions in both nations. Additionally, the discussions included the implementation of several cooperative initiatives arising from a recently signed Memorandum of Understanding between LEDA and the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development.
