LNFP Tightens Restrictions on Supporters' Travel Following AS FAR-Raja Clashes

Strict Measures Implemented by LNFP After Disturbances

In a decisive response to the violent incidents that marred the recent Classico match between AS FAR and Raja Casablanca, the National Professional Football League (LNFP) has announced a series of stringent measures aimed at enhancing security in stadiums across the nation. This announcement came in the wake of a meeting held with various stakeholders in Moroccan football, addressing concerns over increasing hooliganism and ensuring the safety of all participants in the sport.

The LNFP's new regulations include a complete ban on travel for supporters of visiting teams. Henceforth, no seating will be allocated for away fans, and tickets will not be sold to them for upcoming matches. This radical step is part of a broader strategy to preemptively mitigate risks associated with fan violence, safeguarding the integrity of the game and the spirit of sportsmanship, which is rooted in mutual respect and fair play.

In addition to these travel restrictions, both AS FAR and Raja Casablanca have faced severe penalties due to the alarming level of violence witnessed during their recent encounter at the Complexe Moulay Abdellah in Rabat. AS FAR has been handed a sanction of five closed-door matches, while Raja Casablanca will play three home games without fans. Moreover, supporters from both clubs are prohibited from attending any away matches for the remainder of the 2025-2026 season.

The repercussions extend to financial penalties as well, with each club required to pay a fine of 200,000 dirhams for the actions of their supporters. The damages incurred during the disturbances at the stadium will also be assessed, with repair costs to be shared between the two clubs involved.

While AS FAR will not be able to host matches at the Complexe Moulay Abdellah for the time being, this restriction does not apply to international competitions, allowing the team to continue its campaign in the CAF Champions League where they are set to face Mamelodi Sundowns in the return leg of the final on May 24.
